ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a Lead AI Data Engineer to own the data architecture, engineering and governance that underpin our client's AI programme. You will design big-data platforms, embed data quality and compliance, and lead engineers building AI-ready data products.

Nlightn is hiring on behalf of a client for the role of Lead AI Data Engineer – AI Data Engineering & Governance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Define enterprise data architecture and big-data platforms across cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).

• Design and lead scalable ETL/ELT processes feeding AI/ML and analytics.

• Establish data governance, data quality management and regulatory-compliance controls.

• Build AI-ready data products with strong data modeling and lineage.

• Lead, mentor and set standards for the data-engineering team.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Must-have:
Data Architecture, AI Data Engineering, Big Data Technologies,



ETL/ELT Processes, Data Modeling, Data Governance, Data Quality Management, Python, SQL, Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)

Valuable-to-have:
Machine Learning, Regulatory Compliance (GDPR/HIPAA), Spark, dbt, Airflow, Snowflake/Databricks, GenAI data pipelines

Certifications:
Cloud certification (AWS/Azure/GCP, e.g. Solutions Architect / Data Engineer) preferred.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

• 5+ years in data engineering, including architecture and governance leadership.

• Track record building AI/ML-ready data platforms at enterprise scale.

• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and standards-setting skills.
