Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) is a not-for-profit centre of excellence that drives organisational change toward responsible business strategies, policies, and practices. CRB works with stakeholders across national and transnational value chains, including brands, buyers, local manufacturers, SMEs, civil society organizations, and governments, to advance sustainable and ethical business conduct. The organization focuses on designing, developing, and implementing self-regulatory social and environmental standards that foster responsible behavior and improve conditions for workers, factories, farms, and producers. Established in 2011 following a multi-year partnership between GIZ, Social Accountability International (SAI), and Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), CRB is committed to building capacities that strengthen voluntary standards and generate positive impact on businesses and the workplace.

Location

Remote (India). Travel may be required for selected stakeholder consultations or workshops, subject to mutual agreement.

Type of Engagement





This is the contractual agreement for the period of six months under a formal contract that outlines the scope of work, deliverables, and timelines. Consultant contracts will be based on the completion of specific deliverables on or before the given timeline.

About the deliverables:

The consultant will provide technical expertise on carbon markets, carbon finance, and climate policy to support the development of a comprehensive
White Paper on Regenerative Agriculture and Farmer Incentives
and a series of
policy briefs
. The assignment will focus on strengthening the evidence base, assessing opportunities for carbon finance in agriculture, reviewing national and international policy frameworks, and translating technical findings into actionable recommendations for policymakers, private sector actors, financial institutions, and development partners.
