Centre for the Study of Caste and Capitalism (CSCC)
is a Section 8, Not-for-profit body incorporated under the Companies Act on 13th August 2015.
It encourages entrepreneurship among the underprivileged based on the plentiful skills that they possess, as an important means of mainstreaming them. CSCC attempts to provide the ecosystem essential for it.
It undertakes micro-entrepreneurship projects and a local area development approach and focuses on skilling/up-skilling, market connect, self-employment, and enterprise development to provide sustainable solutions. CSCC believes that supporting a craft is supporting a source of livelihood that is sustainable, environment-friendly and energy saving.
CSCC works, for instance, in Meghalaya to revive disappearing textile arts that sustain Tribal heritage in the Northeast for sustainable fashion to create livelihood options for weavers locally.

Job Description for a Designer
Design for market-linked production in weavers’ cluster in Meghalaya under the “Weaver to Entrepreneur” project run by the Center for the Study of Caste and Capitalism, CSCC. The effort, so far, has created a brand called 'TriWea'.
TriWea promises sustainable bespoke fabrics/products along two binaries, affordable and high-end to the market. The need is to upgrade and diversify the present range of products through design interventions and quality improvement so as to enter the market.
Broadly, design product/ samples for the target market, assist with Product pricing for B2B and B2C buyers; using Eri and other yarn such as Cotton, Modal, Muga, gheecha etc.
