Responsibilities
- Attend to any current patient admission immediately.
- Conduct a thorough clinical examination.
- Inform the respective Consultant about the admission and follow their clinical instructions.
- Document and communicate all necessary orders to the nursing staff.
- Document Initial Care Assessment and Plan in coordination with the Consultant(s)
- Conduct daily rounds and examine each patient individually at least once during the shift and as per needs of the patients
- Track all investigations and follow up on pending results.
- Inform the Consultant(s) on the status of the patients and if any new clinical findings
- Join Consultants during their rounds and implement changes as directed.
- Record updates on the treatment sheet and notify nursing staff accordingly.
- Document all pre-operative instructions in the treatment sheet and notify nursing staff
- Ensure surgical/procedural consent is obtained; if not, inform the appropriate authority.
- Notify the anesthetist on duty and brief them on the patient's condition.




- Execute all pre-operative orders without delay.
- Address patient complaints and provide reassurance to anxious patients.
- Escalate concerns to Consultants when required.
- Follow post-operative instructions from the Consultants and notify the nursing staff on appropriate post-operative care

· Attend patients in Triage/emergency at the earliest and take a detailed history from the patient (if possible) or from a relative. Review and document any previous medical records in history
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all Medico Legal Cases (MLC).

· Coordinate with treating Consultant or on-call Consultant if any intervention or admission required from the Triage

· Assist Consultants in deliveries, surgeries and procedures

· Plan discharges along with the Consultants and notify nursing and administration accordingly

· Preparing discharge summaries with detailed discharge medication and instructions as advised by the Consulta
