Introduction As a Tax Operations Manager within the Tax Fixed Assets and Special Projects team, you will play a critical role in supporting GlobalFoundries global tax function. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure compliance, efficiency, and optimization of tax fixed asset processes across multiple countries and regions. This role also requires leadership in specialized tax initiatives, process transformation, and digitalization efforts to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Your Job
- Conduct periodic book and tax basis reconciliation analysis and track timing differences across global entities.
- Analyze fixed asset activity and coordinate processing with external consultants.
- Review tax cost recovery computations to ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including US federal and state requirements.
- Perform detailed analysis of fixed assets and tax depreciation to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance tax depreciation processes and maximize tax efficiencies.
- Support global tax technology initiatives, including software implementations, upgrades, and reporting enhancements.
- Drive process improvements through digitization, automation, and standardization across tax functions.
- Collaborate with the tax accounting (ASC 740) provision team to support reporting and system updates.
- Assist the US tax compliance team with accounting method changes, planning initiatives, and other compliance requirements.
- Lead and contribute to ad hoc tax projects and cross-functional initiatives globally.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline (MBA preferred).
- Enrolled Agent (EA) certification.
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in tax operations, with exposure to fixed assets and cost recovery processes.
