- Diagnosis & Treatment Planning: Assess patients, conduct medical histories and physical exams to diagnose cancer, determine its stage, and create tailored, comprehensive treatment plans.
- Treatment Administration: Administer and monitor treatments such as chemotherapy, hormonal therapies, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
- Patient & Family Education: Explain the cancer diagnosis, treatment options, and potential side effects to patients and their families, offering support and counseling.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records and documentation.
- Clinical Meetings: Participate in tumor boards and clinical meetings to discuss cases and contribute to treatment strategies.
- Symptom & Side Effect Management: Help patients manage the symptoms of cancer and the side effects of treatment. Role & responsibilities
