Role & responsibilities
- Prepare and set up dialysis machines before each treatment.
- Perform hemodialysis procedures as per the nephrologist's instructions and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patients' vital signs before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
- Ensure proper vascular access care and report any complications immediately.
- Maintain strict infection control practices and follow safety guidelines.
- Inspect, clean, disinfect, and maintain dialysis equipment after each use.
- Document patient treatment details accurately in medical records.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and inform the nephrologist or nursing staff of any abnormal patient condition.
- Educate patients on dialysis procedures, treatment schedules, and basic care instructions.
- Ensure adequate stock of dialysis consumables and maintain a clean, safe, and organized dialysis unit.
Preferred candidate profile
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Dialysis Technology (B.Sc./DMLT with Dialysis specialization).
- Minimum 13 years of experience in a dialysis unit
- Knowledge of hemodialysis machines, dialysis procedures, and infection control protocols.
- Ability to monitor patients and respond effectively during emergencies.
- Good communication and patient counseling skills.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation skills.
- Basic knowledge of biomedical waste management and safety standards.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and on-call duties.
- Team player with a skilled, compassionate, and patient-focused attitude.
- Registration with the appropriate State Paramedical Council (if applicable) is preferred.
