Title: Data Engineer – IBD Plexus (External Consultant)
Summary: We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with Bioinformatics/ data science background to support ingestion, processing, harmonization, and feature engineering of IBD Plexus multimodal data into the Novartis Data42 platform (US/EU tenancies). The role will focus on building robust pipelines from IBD Plexus data (clinical EMR, omics, imaging, biospecimens) into an AWS based HPC, enabling model-ready datasets and advanced analytics for the IMM BR portfolio aims (preclinical, translational, and clinical enrichment).

· Allocation: Dedicated support for IBD Plexus, with flexibility to address ongoing questions and current processing needs.
· Duration:
Initial 12-month engagement aligned to IBD Plexus access period and Data42 ingestion/harmonization milestones.
· Location: Remote (preferred India based) with ability to work across US and EU time zones;
Key responsibilities
1. Data ingestion and integration
· Design and implement scalable ingestion pipelines within Novartis Data42 Foundry/HPC environments (US and/or EU tenancy, subject to governance decisions).
· Support ingestion of the full IBD Plexus dataset (clinical, omics, imaging-derived features), including file format assessment and schema definition.
· Collaborate with the Data42 platform team and external ingestion team to manage ingestion (raw landing vs. curated layers, HPC vs. Foundry).
· Implement robust data lifecycle management (staging, raw, curated, analytics layers) suitable for multi-terabyte longitudinal and multimodal data (>100 TB including future imaging expansion).
