Job Description

Design Engineer- PWT Chennai · Full-time · Hybrid

About the Role The Design Engineer will be responsible for executing the design of parts, ensuring technical convergence, and defining assembly constraints. The role involves working on 2D, 3D, and simulation designs, as well as managing product documentation and digital mock-ups. Success in this role requires strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute the design of parts within their scope, including 2D, 3D, and simulation designs.
- Ensure technical convergence by creating a technical definition summary.
- Define the connecting elements and assembly drawings.




- Assist in creating the design file and managing the digital mock-up.
- Execute and update product drawings, including 3D annotations, and archive them in the dedicated information system.
- Validate the design product/process feasibility by transposing dedicated product/process constraints during design reviews.
- Monitor product documentation of parts within their scope.

Requirements
- Hold a BE in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering with knowledge of automobile parts.
- Possess ability to work with deadlines and without supervision.
- Demonstrate analytical skills and logical thinking.
- Show adaptability and learning skills.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Good to Have
- 1-7 years of experience in Powertrain parts.
- Good knowledge of CATIA, GD & T, and Tolerance stack up.
- Experience with Electrical Vehicles, such as Power Electronics.
- Positive academic record in Mechanical Engineering.
