1. Electrical Operations
- Monitor and operate High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT) electrical systems.
- Supervise protected operation of HT/LT panels, switchgear, breakers, transformers, capacitor banks, bus ducts, and associated electrical equipment.
- Ensure uninterrupted electrical supply to all hospital areas.
- Monitor electrical load distribution and maintain optimum system performance.
- Coordinate power restoration during electrical interruptions or emergencies.
2. DG Set Operations
- Supervise operation and maintenance of Diesel Generator (DG) sets.
- Ensure automatic and manual changeover during power failures.
- Monitor DG parameters including voltage, frequency, current, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel consumption.
- Maintain adequate diesel stock and coordinate refueling activities.
- Conduct periodic trial runs and load testing.
3. Transformer & Breaker Maintenance
- Monitor transformer performance and record operating parameters.
- Ensure preventive maintenance of transformers, circuit breakers, VCBs, ACBs, MCCBs, MCBs,
and protective relays.
- Coordinate annual testing of transformers, insulation resistance, earth resistance, and protection systems.
- Ensure timely rectification of electrical faults.
4. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical installations.
- Attend electrical breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
- Identify root causes of recurring failures and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain spare parts inventory required for emergency repairs.
5. Hospital Critical Systems
- Ensure uninterrupted power supply to:
a. Operation Theatres
b. Intensive Care Units (ICUs)
c. Emergency Department
d. Cath Lab
e. Radiology
f. Laboratory
g. Medical Gas Systems
h. CSSD
i. Pharmacy
j. Data Centre & Server Rooms
k. Coordinate with biomedical and IT departments during planned shutdowns.
