Qualification:

MBBS with MS/DNB in General Surgery from a recognized institution.

Fellowship or training in Minimal Access/Laparoscopic Surgery will be preferred.

Valid NMC/State Medical Council Registration.

Experience:

Minimum 25 years of experience as a Consultant General & Laparoscopic Surgeon in a reputed hospital. (Fresh MS/DNB candidates may be considered based on hospital requirements.)

Job Summary:

The General & Laparoscopic Surgeon is responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of surgical conditions through open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) procedures. The consultant will provide OPD, IPD, emergency, and surgical services while ensuring quality patient care and compliance with hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities

Conduct OPD consultations and evaluate patients with general surgical conditions.

Admit and manage surgical inpatients.

Perform daily ward rounds and monitor patient progress.

Diagnose and manage surgical emergencies.

Provide pre-operative evaluation and post-operative care.





Maintain complete and accurate medical records.

Surgical Responsibilities

Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures.

Perform laparoscopic surgeries, including:

Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

Laparoscopic Appendectomy

Laparoscopic Hernia Repair

Diagnostic Laparoscopy

Other minimally invasive abdominal procedures as indicated

Perform open surgical procedures when required.

Manage trauma and emergency surgical cases.

Patient Care

Explain diagnosis, treatment options, and surgical risks to patients and their attendants.

Obtain informed consent before surgery.

Coordinate with Anaesthesia, ICU, Radiology, and other departments for comprehensive patient care.

Ensure patient safety and quality outcomes throughout treatment.

Administrative Responsibilities
