The Sales Manager is responsible for driving retail sales, achieving revenue targets, expanding market presence, managing distributor/dealer relationships and leading the retail sales team. The role focuses on increasing store productivity, ensuring excellent customer service, implementing sales strategies, and maximizing profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Drive revenue growth across retail stores and distribution channels.
- Identify recent business opportunities and expand the customer base.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
- Plan and implement promotional campaigns to increase footfall and sales.
Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and mentor the retail sales team.
- Set sales targets and KPIs for team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
- Coordinate training programs to improve product knowledge and selling skills.
- Ensure proper staffing and workforce planning.
Store Operations
- Monitor store performance and productivity.
- Ensure visual merchandising standards are maintained.
- Coordinate with operations to ensure stock availability.
- Minimize stock loss and improve inventory turnover.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and SOPs.
Dealer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key dealers.
- Resolve dealers’ complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure high levels of dealer’s satisfaction and retention.
- Develop dealer engagement initiatives to increase repeat business.
Sales Planning & Reporting
- Prepare monthly sales forecasts and budgets.
- Analyse sales performance and recommend improvement strategies.
- Maintain accurate MIS reports and sales dashboards.
- Present performance reports to senior management.
- Monitor conversion rates, average bill value, and customer acquisition metrics.
