Your role and responsibilities
- The R&D; Engineer - 800xA & QCS ensures quality, reliability, and performance of ABB's System 800xA and Quality Control System (QCS) solutions for the Pulp & Paper industry.
- This role requires expertise in process control systems, industrial automation, end-to-end system validation, DCS integration, and QCS control strategies.
- The incumbent serves as an individual contributor with potential to lead a small testing team, ensuring complete traceability from requirements to validation aligned with ABB quality processes and standards.
- Complex system integration, domain-specific QCS validation, balancing manual/automated testing, rapid technology evolution, cross-functional coordination across time zones, maintaining quality under tight deadlines, ensuring traceability and compliance, developing leadership capabilities.

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Develop test strategies, plans, and comprehensive test cases for 800xA and QCS solutions
- Execute functional, system, integration, regression, and scenario-based testing
- Identify, document, and track defects using Azure DevOps
- Perform root cause analysis and verify defect fixes through regression
