ISP Elementary 1st Grade Teacher Role Profile

Purpose of Role

The purpose of the Elementary Teacher role is to provide high-quality teaching
and learning experiences that support the academic, social, and emotional
development of young students. The teacher creates a secure, inclusive, and
engaging classroom environment where all children are encouraged to reach their
full potential. Through planning, instruction, and assessment, the elementary
teacher plays a key role in building foundational skills in literacy, numeracy,
and critical thinking, while fostering a lifelong love of learning.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons in accordance
with the school curriculum.
* Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that supports
the diverse learning needs of all students.
* Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to support different learning
styles and abilities.
* Assess, record, and report on the progress, development, and attainment of
students regularly.




* Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents or
guardians.
* Develop and maintain classroom routines that promote respect, responsibility,
and positive behaviour.
* Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and school leadership to enhance
the educational experience for all students.
* Participate in staff meetings, professional development, parent-teacher
conferences, and school events.
* Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to support student
learning and well-being.
* Uphold school policies and maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and
professionalism.
* Identify and respond to the individual needs of students, including those
with special educational needs or learning difficulties.
* Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance learning and engagement.
