Job Summary
We are seeking a Hardware Design and Validation Engineer to support the design, development, prototyping, and validation of Magnetic and Vortex Flow Meters. In this role, you will work closely with engineering leaders to develop reliable hardware solutions, execute product validation activities, and support product development from concept through product release. You will contribute to innovative instrumentation products while ensuring compliance with quality, reliability, and performance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Execute assigned hardware design, prototype development, and validation activities under the guidance of engineering leadership to achieve project objectives.
- Design and develop hardware for flow transmitters, including schematic design, design calculations, PCB layout reviews, and technical documentation.
- Support prototype development activities to ensure timely availability of engineering samples for testing and validation.
- Review and understand product requirements and specifications and develop comprehensive validation plans.
- Create test plans covering timelines, test environments, risk identification, mitigation strategies, and lessons learned.
- Execute product validation activities, including functional, environmental, reliability, electromagnetic compatibility, and compliance testing.
- Analyze test results, identify observations, and recommend corrective actions and design improvements.
- Develop detailed test scenarios, test cases, and supporting test data to verify product performance and compliance requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical feedback to improve product quality and performance.
- Support root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of hardware design and validation issues.
- Assist with laboratory equipment calibration and the maintenance of engineering laboratory infrastructure.
- Prepare and communicate project updates, validation results, technical findings,
and potential risks to stakeholders and global engineering teams.
- Collaborate effectively across locations and time zones to support global product development initiatives.

For This Role, You Will Need
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics, Electronics Telecommunication Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in hardware design, development, prototyping, and validation of embedded electronic products.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, including signal conditioning, operational amplifier circuits, circuit analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with microcontroller or microprocessor-based hardware design and integration of peripherals such as ADCs, DACs, memory devices, and communication interfaces.
- Knowledge of communication interfaces and protocols such as RS-485, Modbus, Ethernet, UART, SPI, and I C.
- Understanding of power supply design concepts, including buck and boost converters, power sequencing, and power distribution architectures.
- Ability to create schematics and contribute to PCB layout guidance and review activities.
- Experience conducting reliability, environmental, compliance,
and validation testing.
- Solid knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility design and testing, including filtering, grounding, shielding, and noise mitigation techniques.
- Hands-on experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, differential probes, signal generators, and power analyzers.
- Experience supporting component selection, bill of materials preparation, prototype development, and component lifecycle management.
- Robust analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and globally distributed environment.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart
- Experience with industrial instrumentation, flow measurement products, process automation systems, or industrial sensing technologies.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as HART, Foundation Fieldbus, and Profibus.
- Understanding of hazardous area product design concepts, including Intrinsic Safety, Explosion-Proof, and Increased Safety requirements.
- Familiarity with global certification standards and compliance requirements such as ATEX, IECEx, FM, CSA, and CE.
- Experience using circuit simulation tools such as LTSpice, PSpice, or similar applications.
- Demonstrated success in new product development, product enhancement, or product sustenance initiatives.
- Experience supporting manufacturing introduction, production issue resolution, and product quality improvement activities.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), and Design for Reliability (DFR) practices.
