Role Overview

The Design Specialist will report to our Creative Director of design. This is a hands-on role, and will involve setting the design style and tempo for Alt Carbon across all external facing channels - from website, social media posts, pitch decks, posters, big ticket campaigns, and offline events.

The ideal candidate should have a distinct style and a portfolio of work to exhibit different style types. The person can build a team for all the work needed to create a strong visual identity for Alt Carbon. This is an extremely high impact role that defines the identity of the brand.

What You'll Do

- Ensuring consistency and quality of visual communication across all our external channels
- Context switching between brand, web, editorial, events and sales material
- Evolve and contribute to maintaining visual language across typography, layout systems, interaction, illustration and graphic assets
- Building and maintaining a scalable design system that acts as a guideline for all marketing endeavors
- Design web and product interfaces with solid hierarchy,



usability, and information clarity
- Support rapid-turnaround sales and internal materials through fast iteration and progressive refinement
- Use AI tools actively and experimentally, with a growth mindset, to expand creative range, increase efficiency and produce stellar results.

What We're Looking For

- 5 to 8 years of experience with illustration as a primary strength, alongside brand and digital experience
- A portfolio demonstrating original illustration work, AI experimentation and integration into systems, campaigns, or digital platforms
- Strong fundamentals in typography, composition, visual hierarchy, and layout
- Experience translating illustration into motion, web, and editorial contexts
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with motion tools such as After Effects or equivalent
- Demonstrated AI fluency, particularly in illustration and creative experimentation
- Ability to context switch and iterate quickly while maintaining coherence and craft
