Job Title: Manager Insurance Claims

Location: Chennai – T.Nagar (Work from Office)

Experience: 6–10 Years of experience in Insurance Claims Management, with proven team handling experience. Experience with General Insurance Companies, Insurance Brokers, or TPAs is preferred.

Role Overview:

The Manager – Insurance Claims will be responsible for leading the end-to-end insurance claims function, ensuring efficient claim processing, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and superior customer experience. The role involves managing a team, collaborating with insurers and stakeholders, monitoring key performance indicators, and driving continuous process improvements while ensuring timely and accurate claim settlements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Claims Processing: Review, assess, and process insurance claims (OD and TP) in line with company policies. Scrutinize documentation for completeness and accuracy. Coordinate with surveyors and assessors for claim verification and damage assessment.Handle claim settlement deviations and coordinate with TPAs and insurance companies to resolve deviations and ensure appropriate claim closure.
- Customer Service:



Communicate with policyholders, garages, and other stakeholders to resolve queries. Handle customer queries and resolve claim-related issues effectively, ensuring a smooth and satisfactory claims experience. Provide timely updates to customers regarding claim status. Handle grievances and escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all claims are documented and filed as per IRDAI regulations and internal audit requirements. Maintain accurate claim records in the system. Adhere to service level agreements (SLAs) and turnaround time (TAT) targets.
- Liaison & Coordination: Work closely with underwriters, legal teams, surveyors, and repair workshops. Coordinate with TPAs and insurance companies on claim-related matters, including settlement deviations, escalations, and resolution of complex claims.Support investigations for fraud detection or disputed claims.
- Reporting and Analysis: Assist in preparing claims MIS reports for management. Analyze claim trends and provide feedback for process improvement.
- Team Leadership & People Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the Insurance Claims team to achieve operational and service excellence.



Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and training programs. Allocate work effectively and monitor team performance against established KPIs.

Qualifications:

- Any bachelor's degree preferred in commerce, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 6–10 years of experience in Insurance Claims, with at least 2–3 years in a Team Lead or Managerial role
- Experience in handling insurer relationships, surveyors, garages, and TPAs.
- Strong experience in handling customer queries, claim-related escalations, and settlement deviations with TPAs and insurance companies.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, claims management software, and MIS reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
