About the Role

VSL India Pvt Ltd is looking for a Graduate Engineer Trainee – Purchase to join our Purchase/Procurement team at Guindy, Chennai.

The ideal candidate will be a B.Tech/B.E. Civil Engineering graduate with a strong interest in procurement and construction-related materials. The candidate should have good proficiency in MS Excel, dashboard preparation, data analysis, and PowerPoint presentations.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Purchase team in day-to-day procurement and material coordination activities.
- Support procurement activities related to bridge construction and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and maintain purchase-related MIS reports, trackers, and dashboards.
- Analyze procurement data and provide reports for management review.
- Work extensively with MS Excel for data analysis using:
- VLOOKUP
- Pivot Tables
- Data sorting, filtering, and reconciliation
- Dashboard preparation

- Prepare professional PowerPoint presentations for review meetings.
- Track purchase orders, material requirements, deliveries, and pending procurement activities.
- Coordinate with internal project teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Assist in comparing quotations, preparing comparative statements,



and maintaining vendor-related data.
- Support the Purchase team in improving reporting and procurement processes.

Required Skills

Technical Skills

- B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering – Mandatory
- Good knowledge of MS Excel
- Hands-on knowledge of VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
- Ability to prepare dashboards and MIS reports
- Good knowledge of MS PowerPoint
- Basic understanding of procurement/purchase processes is preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Fresh Civil Engineering graduates with an interest in Purchase / Procurement.

- Should have a robust interest in working with Excel-based reports and dashboards.
- Candidates who are proactive, detail-oriented, and willing to build a career in the infrastructure procurement function are encouraged to apply.
