As a Senior Backend Engineer in our BranchOps team, you will engineer the systems that power the full vehicle turnaround lifecycle and branch-level fleet orchestration, with deep integration into our IoT-connected fleet infrastructure. This is a role where backend engineering meets real-world operations at scale, in a team that builds with purpose and moves with pace.

Responsibilities

- You will design and build robust backend services in Java that power vehicle turnaround and fleet orchestration workflows
- You will contribute to the design and evolution of distributed, event-driven systems that operate at branch level and at global scale
- You will develop and maintain shared libraries and internal tooling that improve reliability and delivery speed across the BranchOps engineering team
- You will collaborate closely with product, operations, and engineering stakeholders to translate complex business workflows into scalable technical solutions
- You will actively integrate AI coding tools such as Claude and Cursor into your daily development workflow, helping to embed AI-assisted engineering as a standard practice within the team

Requirements

- You hold a B.Tech, B.E.,



or Masters Degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
- You bring 7-9 years of hands-on experience in sophisticated engineering environments - including cloud-native application development, scalability problem-solving, and event-driven system design, ideally within a start-up or scale-up setting
- You have strong, production-proven experience with Java and Spring Boot (must-have) and are confident navigating a modern microservices landscape end to end
- You have designed or operated distributed systems and microservices architectures, with a transparent understanding of the trade-offs that come with operating at scale
- You have a solid grasp of event-driven patterns, pub-sub models, and message brokers such as Apache Kafka
- You actively use AI coding assistants - such as Cursor, Claude- to accelerate your work, while confidently recognising their limitations and knowing when engineering judgment must take precedence
