About the Role
We are looking for a highly competent Manager Accounts to lead day-to-day accounting operations and support the Finance Head in driving financial control, compliance, and reporting excellence. This role requires a strong mix of hands-on accounting expertise and team management capability, especially in a high-volume, transaction-driven petroleum business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting Operations & Book Closure
- Oversee end-to-end accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, bank reconciliations)
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual book closure
- Maintain strong financial controls and accounting standards
2. Receivables, Payables & Working Capital
- Manage accounts receivable and payable cycles
- Monitor and improve collections, credit control, and aging reports
- Support working capital optimization in coordination with Finance Head
3. Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and statutory regulations
- Oversee timely filing of returns and regulatory submissions
- Lead coordination for internal and external audits
4. MIS & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly MIS, variance analysis, and financial reports
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Provide insights on expenses, margins, and operational efficiency
5. Team Management & Process Improvement
- Supervise and mentor accounts team members (Assistant Managers / Executives)
- Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization
- Ensure adherence to timelines and accuracy across all finance processes
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Sales, Logistics, and Operations teams to ensure financial accuracy
- Support business teams with financial data, invoicing, and reconciliations
Required Qualifications
- CA / CA Inter / CMA (CA preferred)
- 10 12 years of experience in accounting and finance roles
- Solid knowledge of accounting standards, GST, and TDS compliance • Experience in managing high-volume transactions and team operations
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (Tally / ERP)
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience in petroleum / oil & gas / trading / distribution companies
- Exposure to tier 1 organisations is preferred
- Experience in working capital management and receivables-heavy businesses
• Familiarity with sales-driven organizations and credit-based models
