Market Purchaser Job Description

Purpose: Procure raw materials and supplies directly from local markets, mandis, and wholesale vendors at the best price through hands-on visits and negotiation without relying on formal tendering.

Role Type: Field-based; requires physical market visits, on-the-spot quality checks, and live negotiation (not desk/ERP purchasing).

Key Responsibilities:

- Sourcing: Visit markets/vendors regularly, develop new suppliers, build vendor relationships, track real-time prices.
- Negotiation: Compare rates across vendors per major purchase; bargain using market knowledge and bulk leverage.
- Quality Check: Inspect material grade, weight, and condition on the spot; reject substandard or counterfeit goods.
- Purchase Execution:



Confirm rate and quality before buying; Coordinate with production / maintenance departments for correctness; ensure correct quantity/billing; arrange transport to the unit.
- Documentation: Maintain daily purchase records (item, rate, vendor, value); submit bills/vouchers; report summaries to management.

Required Skills: Solid negotiation ability, product/quality judgment, local market network, basic numeracy, mobility (travel to markets), experience with technical purchasing & spare parts , knowledge of retail / wholesale markets & vendors in Delhi NCR

Qualification: bachelor degree ; 5- 7 years market purchasing experience (mandi/wholesale preferred); two-wheeler with license preferred.
