The GCP & Analytical Engineer will design, develop, and support analytical data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with strong focus on BigQuery, dbt, data quality, compliance, and engineering best practices. The role requires expertise in SQL, analytical engineering, CI/CD, data lineage analysis, SOX compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skill Sets
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable analytical data models and transformation pipelines using dbt Cloud/Core.
• Develop advanced SQL queries and optimize complex workloads within GCP BigQuery.
• Build and maintain dimensional models, data marts, and trusted analytical datasets.
• Trace end-to-end data lineage and resolve data flow, transformation, and reconciliation issues.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and manage branching, merging, rebasing, and conflict resolution using Git-based workflows.
• Support data quality frameworks, validation controls, and PII handling standards.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and present them to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve performance, reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity.
• Support SOX controls, audit evidence collection, change management, and compliance activities.
• Identify and mitigate operational, compliance, and data risks through proactive governance.
• Knowledge of data modelling techniques and best practices.




• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and data development lifecycles.
• Exposure to BI tools(Tableau, etc) for understanding user needs.
• Performance tuning and knowledge of cost optimization in cloud.

Required Technical Skills
• Advanced SQL and complex query writing.
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
• Robust dbt Cloud and dbt Core expertise.
• Dimensional data modeling and data mart design experience.
• Data lineage, root cause analysis, and data flow troubleshooting.
• Configuration management, Git, branching strategies, merging, conflict resolution, and rebasing.
• CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment automation.
• Data quality monitoring, testing frameworks, and governance controls.
• Knowledge of PII handling, data privacy, and security standards.
Responsibilities
• Build and Maintain HighQuality Data Models.
o Design and implement scalable business-layer models, marts, and OBTs used by the organization.

- Own EndtoEnd Development Lifecycle.

o Apply and enforce coding standards for SQL and DBT cloud.
o Conduct quality code reviews focusing on logic, consistency, and documentation.
o Produce clean, well-structured, maintainable code.

- Data Quality, PII Handling & Testing.
o Add generic and custom tests to ensure accuracy of transformed data.
o Handle PII safely (masking, hashing, accesscontrol).
o Treat data quality issues as critical defects, not afterthoughts.

- Diagnose and Resolve Data Issues:
o Investigate discrepancies across source transformation BI layers.
o Debug failures and pipeline breaks using compiled SQL and lineage.
o Work independently until issues are resolved.

- Improve and Optimize the Codebase:
o Identify refactoring opportunities for older or inefficient models.
o Optimize query performance and cost using Big Query tools.

SOX Compliance, Risk & Governance
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls, audit requirements, and internal governance standards.
• Maintain evidence for changes, approvals, deployments, and access reviews.
• Identify risks and drive remediation actions to improve operational resilience and compliance posture.
