We are the development center for Sber's India branch.

You have a unique opportunity to participate in building an Automated Banking System (ABS) for Sber's India branch from scratch.

The system consists of a set of modules - core, accounting, reporting, credit and non-credit products, internet banking and anti-fraud system. You can directly participate in the creation of any of them, influence the architecture, the quality, the processes, the way they should look in the end.

Our pros are no legacy, no complicated, hardened processes, contemporary technology.

Our goal is to make our own, small Sber for the foreign market.

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist to join our AI/Data Science division at Sberbank in Bengaluru. In this role, you will harness the power of data to drive strategic initiatives and shape our corporate business strategies.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement analytical models for a variety of purposes, including lead generation, product recommendation, customer segmentation, and price modeling
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to uncover trends and insights, informing strategic decisions and business development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate analytics into comprehensive business solutions, enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency
- Design and execute AB tests to evaluate model performance and guide continuous improvement.

Candidate Expectations

- Demonstrated experience in data science or analytics, with a focus on practical business applications




- Proficiency in statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization
- Strong skills in Python and familiarity with key libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights
- Effective communication skills for presenting data-driven findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Knowledge and Technical Skills

- Expertise in statistical methods and machine learning, particularly in areas such as descriptive statistics, probability distributions, statistical tests, and cluster analysis
- Advanced Python skills for data manipulation and visualization or any visualization tool understanding such as PowerBI or Tableau
- Solid SQL skills for complex queries, window functions, CTEs, and query optimization
- Expertise in moving machine learning models in production, integration of models, OCR techniques and Gen AI model understanding such as prompt engineering, RAG etc
- Familiarity with version control using Git (rebase, cherry-pick, bisect)
- Proficiency in Spark, Hadoop, S3 for managing and processing large-scale datasets
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration

Language Proficiency

- Proficient in English, both written and spoken, is essential for this role
- Knowledge of Russian is a plus and will be favorably considered.
