The industrialization Project Leader is responsible to lead all industrialization aspects in the most complex projects. He/she is required to co-ordinate the various activities and departments to ensure industrial KPI s and deliverables are reached and achieved on time, for the projects he/she has been assigned to. Optimize products processes, ensure that the industrial process and logistics supply chain are available and qualified prior to product launch, and drive production to achieve the quality/cost targets and on time delivery for products during all phases of the OCP process. To this end, functionally manages a team of industrialization engineers during a project. This position is part of the OCP. This is a significant supporting and coordinating role in relation to Offer Development projects through the Retail and Eco Buildings Divisions for the Asia Pacific North America perimeter organization. Facilitating the successful completion of deliverables required by the Project Management Process (NEW Products) / Product Evolution Process (EXISTING Product Evolutions). The incumbent must work closely with suppliers, internal factories, departments and Offer Development teams within Asia Pacific North America to ensure the successful industrialization of recent products.
Responsibilities
- Project Management 50%: Ascertain business and departmental requirements for the development of a project plan using Work Breakdown Structures. Liaise with the Offer Strategy Committee to ensure integration of plan to overall project plan. Help establish and define best industrial/supply chain scenario before Do Gate. Provide major input into the Do Gate report. In conjunction with Industrialisation Director and other managers, secure project schedules. Development of a cross functional project team. Manage industrialisation project schedule. Monitor and report project industrial KPI achievement and implement corrective/preventative action as needed. Perform risk analysis and ensure appropriate action plans are implemented to tackle issues appropriately.
Organise product final qualification with other actions completed as per project plan. Feedback from business on project's industrial KPI achieved. Delivery of OTC - On Time to Capability with GSC receiving plants. Stakeholders, and make sure necessary documentation is created to handover responsibility to production facilities.
- Managing Internal/External Supplier 20%: Assist in the review of internal and external supplier technology capabilities. Understand requirements for process transfer. Liaise with RD department to co-ordinate and project manage transfers. ECR updated PPEP completion. Supplier Audits.
- Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental Management 10%: Actively support operational work systems that allow people to keep safe. Advocate behaviour that encourages all team members to operate and manage a safe work environment. Monitor consistency of design and environmental standards for tooling and equipment. Participate and support the RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances), REACH and Green Premium programs. Maintain safety and environmental standards by ensuring adherence to policy and procedures. Provide feedback to Managers for input into site OHSE meetings. Compliance with standards.
- Business Partnering 10%: Communicate and facilitate visits and assessments, problem resolution with production, suppliers, design, purchasing, costing and quality teams. Ensure sound understanding of the requirements and expectations of the PMP and SPS for Industrialisation success. Develop and maintain a positive and professional relationship, building trust, confidence and respect. Provide input if required into the Board of Change (BOC) team meetings.
Identify gaps in specifications and offer alternatives to design, systems, targets or manufacturing approaches. Adhere to established processes and escalation of significant issues. Robust Costing achieved. Effective Supply Chain implementations. Participation in BOC meetings. PMP Expectations and requirements met.
- Technical Advice and Support 10%: Act as a trusted advisor to departments. Provide support to the engineering and production teams. Work closely with the Business Process Excellence, Product Engineering and Methods Engineering Teams regarding product and process requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Essential: Advanced Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical). Desirable: Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical), Advanced or graduate Diploma in Project Management.
- Experience: Essential: Minimum 7 years professional experience in a similar industry. Desirable: Experience in the automotive industry, supply chain knowledge with Management skill.
- Business Understanding: Essential: Understanding of industrial costing, project management, multi-cultural business. Desirable: Knowledge of SPS Lean Manufacturing, PMP, PEP, or Six Sigma.
- Travel: Occasional overseas travel will be required, primarily inside the Asia Pacific North America region.
- Others: Experience in the use of Microsoft suite of packages. Desirable is Microsoft Project experience or similar, Jira, Confluence.
