Job Description
Civil Construction Engineer Wind PMC
The Civil Construction Engineer Wind PMC will support site-level monitoring and governance of civil construction activities for utility-scale wind energy projects. The role is responsible for overseeing foundation works, civil Balance of Plant (BoP) activities, trenching, drainage systems, and interface handovers to erection and electrical teams.
The position works closely with the Construction Manager – Wind PMC, contractors, quality teams, and project stakeholders to ensure civil works are completed in accordance with approved designs, quality standards, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Civil Construction Monitoring
- Monitor construction activities related to turbine foundations, USS foundations, cable trenches, civil BoP works, concrete structures, embedments, drainage systems, and reinstatement works.
- Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and method statements.
- Support monitoring of civil construction quality, workmanship, and construction readiness.
Interface & Handover Coordination
- Coordinate readiness handovers from ground improvement and foundation activities to WTG erection and electrical construction teams.
- Track civil work completion and ensure workfront release requirements are achieved.
- Liaise with contractors and project teams to facilitate seamless interface management.
Quality & Progress Verification
- Record site observations, quality concerns, defects, and punch-list items.
- Follow up on corrective actions and closure of civil-related observations.
- Support project reporting through factual records of completed works, progress updates, and readiness assessments.
Reporting & Governance
- Assist Quantity Surveyors and project controls teams with factual measurement and progress verification.
- Monitor and report civil constraints, risks, and issues impacting project schedules or turbine completion milestones.
- Provide regular updates to project leadership on civil progress and readiness status.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
Experience
- 5 to 10 years of experience in wind energy, infrastructure, or industrial construction projects.
- Experience in foundation construction, concrete works, trenches, civil infrastructure, and construction handover activities.
- Exposure to PMC, Owner's Engineer,
Construction Supervision, or Quality Monitoring roles preferred.
Certifications
- Training or certification in AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Survey QA/QC, Concrete Quality Management, or Construction Safety preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant construction standards and quality control procedures is desirable.
