Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Engineer with experience in ammonia refrigeration systems to oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC and ammonia plant equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure protected, reliable, and efficient operation while complying with all safety, statutory, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate, monitor, and maintain ammonia refrigeration plants and HVAC systems.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, cooling towers, and associated equipment.
- Monitor refrigeration parameters such as pressure, temperature, refrigerant levels, and system performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures related to ammonia handling and refrigeration systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintain maintenance records, logs, and reports.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and facility teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
- Monitor utility consumption and recommend energy-saving initiatives.
- Supervise contractors during maintenance activities and ensure work is completed safely and as per standards.
- Ensure all HVAC and refrigeration equipment complies with statutory regulations and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency situations.
- Maintain adequate spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement when required.




- Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency response drills.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or a related engineering discipline.

- Certification in HVAC/Refrigeration systems is an added advantage.

Experience

- 38 years of experience in HVAC systems and ammonia refrigeration plants.

- Experience in manufacturing, food processing, cold storage, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or industrial facilities is preferred.

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and industrial HVAC equipment.
- Hands-on experience with compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, cooling towers, valves, and piping systems.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID; drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with PLC/SCADA-based refrigeration systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance planning and CMMS software is an advantage.
- Understanding of safety regulations related to ammonia refrigeration systems.
