Job Summary
The Manager Project Planning Control will be part of Avina Clean Hydrogen's India team based at Vadodara, Gujarat, India (On-Site role). He/She will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring project plans, schedules to ensure timely and on-budget delivery of the projects. He/She will collaborate with project teams to develop detailed project budgets and cash flow projections, monitor and forecast expenditures and compare them against the approved budget to manage financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Manages project planning and scheduling deliverables from start to finish stages through feasibility study, FEED, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and plant handover.
- Monitors project progress as per scheduled deadlines for various tasks and taking necessary steps to ensure project completion within time, cost and effort parameters.
- Having knowledge and working experience of project scheduling tools and industry standard software like Primavera P6, Microsoft Projects, etc.
- Utilizes critical path method (CPM) analysis to identify and monitor the sequence of crucial tasks that affect the project timeline.
- Identifies potential schedule delays and issues, and proactively propose corrective action plans and mitigation strategies.
- Develops comprehensive reporting tools, such as Gantt charts and dashboards, weekly/ monthly/ quarterly reports to communicate project status effectively.
- Prepare and maintain all project documentation related to schedules, including status reports, change logs, and meeting minutes.
- Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, projects in execution, and change orders.
- Prepares detailed budget applying WBS structure and cash flow projections in collaboration with project team and monitors expenditures against the budget to manage and forecast project financials throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implements cost-control measures through tracking of costs related to material and labor, conducts variance analysis to identify and investigate any budget overruns or potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepares and presents accurate, timely reports and summaries for stakeholders, including project managers, top management, and clients highlighting critical insight of the project s progress and areas of concern.
- Act as the central point of contact for schedule-related matters, coordinating across internal departments, external stakeholders, and contractors. Facilitate regular meetings to review progress, discuss schedule changes, and ensure all team members are aligned.
- Trains and mentors juniors by providing appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.
- Participates in Technical and progress reviews of projects. Familiar with organization procedures and international standards and regulations.
- Ability to work closely with project execution team (local and global) and ensure proper execution of the job within the specified scope.
Basic Qualifications
- Applicant must have bachelor s degree in mechanical/ electrical engineering of 4 years or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of 8 to 12 years of working experience in project management, planning, scheduling for large scale industrial projects.
- Candidates having working experience in reputed EPC companies for executing Oil and gas, petrochemical or fertilizer projects will be preferred.
- Ambitious, energetic, self-motivated, self-managed, team player, with results oriented approach.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Energetic and positive attitude working with multiple stakeholders on a wide variety of projects.
- Skilled in oral and written communication. Able to work in project groups with shared-work teams globally, to progress project designs.
- Broad knowledge of the application of Engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets, interpret schedules, and identify performance issues and risks
- Understanding of the roles played by other functions on projects is an essential.
- A proactive, strategic mindset for identifying potential problems and developing cutting-edge solutions.
- Meticulous attention to accuracy in tracking tasks, dependencies, and deadlines must for the role.
- Professional certifications like Project Management Professional (PMP), Project Management Institute Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), or PRINCE2 are highly desirable.
- Execution of Hydrogen, Ammonia, Methanol projects is a plus.
