The Remedial Counselor's primary role is to provide counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to students and families as appropriate and prepare treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs.
What you will be doing
- Help students to overcome learning disabilities.
- Focus on assisting individuals who suffer from conditions that interfere with learning, and those with language and reasoning disabilities.
- Helps students improve their focus and work habits
- Works on basic concepts like logical categorization and analytical skills
- Build skills and strategies which help students manage learning or attention issues and improve schoolwork
- Improve attention skills and phonetics awareness
- Help with the students academic skills, social communication, and boost self-confidence
- Teach time management and organizational skills
- Provide a safe setting for discussing school and to learn how to self-advocate
- Act as a link between home and school
Qualifications
- Education: Degree from a recognized University in Psychology/ Social Work/ Counselling
- Certification in Counselling, remedial therapies / relevant courses / Autism / Special needs / Mental Health / Remedial Education and Psychotherapy will be an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 2-6 years of experience.
