Position: PLC Operator
Location: Meenakshi Energy Power Plant, Andhra Pradesh
Department: Operations & Maintenance (O&M;)
Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech – Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / C&I;
Experience: 3–8 Years
Industry Preference: Thermal Power Plant | Power Plant O&M; | CHP | Material Handling

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced PLC Operator responsible for monitoring and operating plant equipment through PLC/DCS/SCADA systems, ensuring smooth and protected operation of the plant and timely coordination with field and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor plant equipment through PLC/DCS/SCADA control systems.
- Monitor equipment parameters, alarms, trends, interlocks and system status from the control desk.
- Operate and monitor Coal Handling Plant (CHP) / Material Handling systems as applicable.
- Monitor conveyors, crushers, feeders, screens, pumps and other associated equipment.
- Identify abnormalities, alarms and equipment trips and take appropriate corrective action.
- Coordinate with field operators and Mechanical, Electrical & C&I; maintenance teams.
- Carry out equipment start-up, shutdown and changeover operations as per SOPs.
- Maintain shift-wise operating parameters, logbooks and operational records.




- Ensure smooth operation of equipment and minimize operational downtime.
- Report PLC/DCS-related abnormalities and coordinate with the C&I;/maintenance team for troubleshooting.
- Follow SOPs, safety procedures, PTW and LOTO requirements.
- Respond appropriately during emergency situations and plant trips.
- Ensure proper shift handover with complete information regarding equipment status and pending activities.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates having experience in Thermal Power Plants, CHP, Material Handling, Coal Handling, Cement, Steel or other continuous-process industries will be preferred.
