Position: Purchase Executive (Pharmaceutical)

Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Executive with a pharmaceutical background to manage the procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and other pharmaceutical requirements. The ideal candidate should have robust knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement processes, supplier management, pharmacopoeia standards, and analytical techniques to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Procure raw materials, packaging materials, and laboratory consumables as per organizational requirements.
- Source, evaluate, and develop new suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and timely delivery.
- Prepare and compare quotations (RFQs) and negotiate with vendors for the best commercial terms.
- Coordinate with R&D;, QA, QC, Production, and Stores for procurement planning.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with pharmacopoeia standards and company quality requirements.
- Review Certificates of Analysis (COA), technical documents, and vendor qualifications.
- Maintain purchase orders, supplier records, and procurement documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely replenishment of materials.




- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers for uninterrupted supply.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare procurement reports and MIS as required.

Required Knowledge:

- Knowledge of Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP), USP, BP, and other pharmacopoeia standards.
- Basic understanding of HPLC and analytical laboratory processes.
- Experience in supplier sourcing, vendor evaluation, and vendor development.
- Hands-on experience in RFQ preparation, quotation comparison, and purchase negotiations.
- Positive understanding of pharmaceutical procurement and inventory management.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and ERP systems.

Preferred Experience:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement or purchase.
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or formulation companies.
- Good analytical and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
