- HANA Alert Monitor: Check critical alerts for memory, CPU, and disk space limits.
- Backup Verification: Validate successful completion of data and log backups using DB12 or HANA Cockpit.
- Filesystem & Volume Usage: Inspect data and log volume allocation so they do not reach 100% and halt the database.
- Service Status: Confirm core HANA daemon and index/nameserver services run stably without unexpected restarts.
- Expensive Statements: Review top long-running or resource-heavy SQL statements affecting response times.
Weekly Maintenance Activities
- Memory & Table Growth: Analyze memory fragmentation, row/column store sizing, and overall database growth trends.
- Savepoints & I/O Latency: Check average savepoint duration to spot storage latency.
- Disk Cleanup: Clean old trace files, diagnostic logs, and obsolete backup logs from operating system paths.
Monthly & Periodic Reviews
- HANA Mini-Check & SAP Notes: Run latest database consistency check scripts and implement mandatory SAP tuning notes.
- System Replication: Validate primary-to-secondary sync status and replication lag for disaster recovery readiness.
- Audit & Ticketing Compliance: Complete compliance logs, update shift handover documentation, and transparent resolved monitoring incidents.
