Reporting to: Category Head (Water) - R&D;

Educational Qualification:

M.Sc. / M. Tech / PhD - Materials Chemistry / Chemistry / Nanotechnology.

Experience: 6–7 years. Research and Product development in the field of Water & Wastewater Treatment Technologies.

Experienced in developing innovative water treatment material / products, evaluating emerging purification technologies, optimizing treatment processes and conducting laboratory- and pilot-scale research. Skilled in designing experiments, interpreting analytical data, validating product performance and translating research findings into commercially viable solutions. Adept at collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and technology partners to develop sustainable and high-performance water purification systems for domestic and industrial applications.

Should typically possess Technical Skills / Core Competencies in the following areas:

1. Membrane technologies (RO, NF, UF, MF) and fouling control.

2. Hybrid membrane–adsorption systems.

3. Adsorption and separation technologies.

4. Activated Carbon adsorption processes (PAC, GAC).

5. Adsorption of heavy metals, dyes, PFAS and emerging contaminants.

6. Nanomaterials for water purification, Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), Photocatalysis, Capacitive de-ionization etc.

7. Experimental design (DOE), Laboratory method development and validation.

8. Process optimization using statistical and experimental methods.

9. Statistical data analysis / Technical documentation / Patent & Scientific publication writing.

10. Strong hands-on experience with advanced Analytical Instrumentation.

11. Quality, Safety & Regulatory working knowledge - ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 5725, GLP, Drinking water standards (WHO, BIS, USEPA, NSF).

Project Management & Product Development - Project planning and execution / Cost estimation and budgeting.

Job Role

Lead end-to-end research, technology development, process optimization and product development initiatives in the area of water treatment, membrane technologies, adsorption, advanced purification and separation technologies.

Develop solutions for challenging contaminants including heavy metals, dyes, PFAS and emerging contaminants like antibiotics.

Conduct R&D; in emerging technologies including, Nanomaterials for water purification, AOPs, CDI, Advanced adsorption and hybrid treatment systems etc.

Generate differentiated solutions through experimentation, technology benchmarking and proof-of-concept development.

Design and execute structured experiments using DOE and statistical approaches.

Develop, optimize and validate laboratory methods and experimental protocols.

Apply statistical and experimental techniques for process optimization, root-cause analysis and performance improvement.

Analyze experimental data, identify trends and translate findings into actionable technical recommendations.

Demonstrate robust working knowledge of advanced analytical instrumentation.

Ensure projects are executed within agreed scope, cost, quality and timelines.

Prepare project reviews and communicate progress & findings to leadership.

Ensure laboratory practices, instrumentation and experimental procedures meet required quality and safety standards.

Prepare reports, experimental protocols, validation reports, project presentations and technical documentation.

Contribute to patent drafting, invention disclosures and scientific publications.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful technology transfer and commercialization.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction, performance improvement and product differentiation.

Own projects from concept to execution and scale-up, lead a technical team, manage internal and external stakeholders, deliver high-quality results within timelines and translate scientific research into practical, commercially viable solutions and IPs.
