Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Assistant Manager - Business Purchase to manage strategic sourcing, cost optimization, supplier development, and procurement activities for automotive manufacturing operations

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Injection Moulding, Sheet Metal, Rubber Components Costing , SAP procurement modules, and import-export processes

The role requires coordination with suppliers, engineering, quality, production, and finance teams to ensure timely procurement at optimum cost, quality, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Manage procurement activities for production and project requirements
Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for automotive components and raw materials.
Conduct RFQ/RFP processes, commercial negotiations, and supplier selection.

Achieve annual cost reduction targets through value engineering and strategic sourcing initiatives.

Costing & Commercial Evaluation Perform detailed costing analysis of: Injection Moulded Parts Sheet Metal Components Rubber Parts Tooling and Development Costs Evaluate supplier quotations based on material, conversion, overheads, tooling, and logistics costs.

Conduct should-cost analysis and benchmarking activities.
Support VA/VE initiatives for cost optimization.

Supplier Development & Management Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance related to Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Service.





Conduct supplier audits and business reviews.
Coordinate with quality teams for supplier quality improvements.
SAP & Procurement Operations Create and manage Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), Scheduling Agreements, and Contracts in SAP.

Monitor open POs and ensure timely closure.
Generate procurement-related MIS and reports from SAP.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
Import & Export Coordination Manage procurement of imported components and materials.

Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs agents, and logistics providers.
Handle documentation including: Commercial Invoice Packing List Bill of Entry Certificate of Origin Shipping Documents Ensure compliance with DGFT, customs regulations, and company policies.
Monitor import shipments and minimize logistics costs.
Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, Finance, and Logistics teams.

Support new project sourcing and localization activities.
Participate in APQP and new product development activities.
MIS & Reporting Track procurement KPIs including: Cost Savings Supplier Performance On-Time Delivery Inventory Optimization Prepare monthly purchase performance reports for management review.





Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Industrial) preferred.

MBA or PG Diploma in Materials Management/Supply Chain Management preferred.

Required Experience 8-10 years of experience in Purchase/Sourcing within the Automotive Manufacturing Industry.
Proven experience in sourcing and costing of: Injection Moulded Components Sheet Metal Components Rubber Components Experience handling domestic and international suppliers
Solid exposure to import-export operations
