Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare detailed project execution plans and work schedules.
- Develop baseline schedules using MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent software.
- Prepare monthly, weekly, and daily work plans.
- Monitor project milestones and identify potential delays.
- Prepare recovery plans whenever required.
- Review project progress against approved baseline schedules and establish corrective actions.
Project Monitoring
- Monitor day-to-day progress of all ongoing civil works.
- Track project progress against approved schedules and targets.
- Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR), Weekly Progress Reports (WPR), and Monthly Progress Reports (MPR).
- Monitor manpower, machinery, and material deployment.
- Ensure optimum utilization of available resources.
- Identify bottlenecks and provide practical solutions to maintain project timelines.
Site Coordination
- Visit project sites regularly and monitor actual progress.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Managers, contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Resolve execution issues through effective planning and communication.
- Ensure timely availability of approved drawings, materials, machinery, and workforce.
- Provide planning and execution guidance to Site Engineers and project teams.
Execution Monitoring
Monitor and coordinate all types of civil construction activities, including:
- Road construction – Flexible & Rigid Pavement
- Earthwork and embankment
- Buildings and industrial structures
- RCC and structural works
- Drainage and sewerage works
- Water supply and pipeline works
- Boundary walls and compound development
- Landscaping and site development
- Miscellaneous infrastructure works
Government Project Experience – Mandatory / Preferred
- Candidates with experience working on government construction projects will be strongly preferred.
- Experience dealing directly with West Bengal Government Departments, PWD, CPWD, WBSEDCL, WBPHED, Irrigation & Waterways, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Rural Development, or other government agencies will be an added advantage.
- Should have a good understanding of government project procedures, departmental specifications, tender conditions, BOQ, measurement and billing procedures, work orders, approvals, inspections, and project documentation.
- Experience coordinating with Departmental Engineers, Government Authorities, Consultants, and other statutory agencies.
- Should be familiar with government contract administration, progress monitoring, extension of time (EOT), delay analysis, recovery planning, and resolution of site-related issues.
- Preference will be given to candidates having substantial experience in West Bengal Government projects and knowledge of West Bengal PWD / relevant departmental specifications and procedures.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control team for inspections and testing.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and company HSE policies.
- Monitor quality-related observations and ensure timely corrective action.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain project documentation and progress records.
- Prepare MIS reports for management.
- Monitor project cash flow, physical progress, and work completion percentages.
- Assist in preparing client presentations and project review meetings.
- Support billing teams by verifying executed quantities and progress measurements.
- Maintain records of site instructions, approvals, inspections, measurements, and other project correspondence.
Coordination
- Coordinate with Procurement for timely availability of materials.
- Coordinate with Design, Planning, Accounts, and Project teams.
- Participate in project review meetings with management, clients, consultants, and government authorities.
- Escalate critical project issues to management along with practical recommendations and recovery measures.
Key Candidate Profile
- 10–15+ years of experience in planning, monitoring, and execution of civil/infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience in project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and site coordination.
- Experience handling multiple construction sites/projects simultaneously will be preferred.
- Government project experience is highly preferred, with West Bengal Government project experience being an added advantage.
- Should be capable of independently monitoring project progress and guiding Site Engineers and project teams.
- Solid knowledge of MS Project / Primavera P6 and Excel-based MIS reporting.
- Good understanding of construction methods, resource planning, BOQ, billing, measurements, and project documentation.
- Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly to project sites across West Bengal.
