Role Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Technical Developer with robust expertise in Java Modernisation, Cloud-Native Development, and AI-enabled Software Engineering. The candidate will play a key role in transforming legacy enterprise applications into scalable, secure, cloud-native services running on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The ideal candidate should possess deep hands-on experience in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kubernetes, DevOps practices, and AI-assisted engineering tools. The role requires end-to-end ownership across application modernization, architecture, development, deployment, production readiness, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Application Modernisation

- Analyze and reverse engineer legacy applications.
- Modernize monolithic applications into cloud-native microservices.
- Design scalable APIs and service boundaries.
- Support migration planning, decomposition, and cutover activities.

Software Development

- Develop enterprise applications using Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, J2EE/Jakarta EE.
- Build REST APIs and event-driven solutions.
- Implement domain-driven design and SOLID principles.
- Create high-quality, maintainable, production-ready code.

Cloud & Platform Engineering

- Deploy applications on GKE/GCP.
- Containerize workloads using Docker.




- Develop Kubernetes deployment configurations and Helm charts.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation.

Security & Compliance

- Implement Secure-by-Design practices.
- Follow OWASP standards.
- Address vulnerabilities identified through SAST/DAST and scanning tools.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise governance and audit requirements.

AI-enabled Development

- Leverage AI coding assistants for productivity and modernization efforts.
- Configure AI agents and reusable development workflows.
- Create reusable prompts, agent skills, and engineering accelerators.
- Validate AI-generated code for quality, security, and compliance.

Collaboration & Leadership

- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Mentor junior developers.
- Participate in architecture reviews and code reviews.
- Collaborate effectively with business, architecture, QA, DevOps, and SRE teams.
