Role & responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 operational support for DB2 applicationlevel database environments supporting inscope applications
• Handle application database incidents, service requests, problems, and changes as per ITIL processes
• Participate in oncall support for P1 / critical application database incidents
• Support minor enhancements, applicationdriven schema changes, and datarelated maintenance activities
• Provide inputs for SLA tracking, service reporting, and governance reviews
• Collaborate closely with application teams, DB2 System DBAs, infrastructure, and mainframe platform teams
• Support DR/BCP drills, application recovery testing, and audit activities
• Maintain and update applicationlevel runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation

Skills & Experience

Technical Skills




• Strong experience in IBM DB2 applicationlevel administration on mainframe platforms
• Handson experience managing DB2 schemas, tables, indexes, and application database objects
• Solid understanding of DB2 SQL behavior, locking mechanisms, concurrency, and performance tuning
• Experience with reorgs, runstats, indexing strategies, and query diagnostics
• Working knowledge of DB2 security at application and object level

Functional / Process Skills
• Experience with ITILaligned Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management
• Ability to work in 247 production support environments with oncall rotations
• Robust documentation and operational discipline
• Effective collaboration with application teams and crossfunctional technical stakeholders
