Analytics Engineer Power BI / SSRS / Azure Data Factory

Position Summary

SpinTheory.ai is seeking an Analytics Engineer to support and enhance enterprise BI, reporting, and analytics platforms. The role will maintain existing solutions built on SSRS, Power BI, , SSAS, and Azure Data Factory while helping advance the organization’s self-service analytics and AI-enabled reporting capabilities.

The ideal candidate combines strong production-support expertise with the ability to improve reporting performance, standardize reusable data assets, and deliver scalable, reliable analytics solutions for business stakeholders.

Principal Responsibilities

- Support and maintain BI and reporting solutions across Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize ETL pipelines, scheduled jobs, and data-refresh processes.
- Improve the performance, usability, reliability, and accuracy of dashboards and reports.
- Provide day-to-day production support for analytics platforms, ensuring system availability, data accuracy, and adherence to service-level agreements.
- Diagnose and resolve incidents involving report failures, refresh issues, data inconsistencies, performance problems, and user access.
- Design and standardize reusable datasets, semantic models, and reporting assets to enable self-service analytics.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and related Azure services.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.




- Partner with data science teams to incorporate AI- and machine-learning-driven insights into analytics solutions.
- Support data warehouse design, dimensional modelling, and analytics architecture improvements.
- Balance the maintenance of current systems with continuous improvement and innovation.
- Adapt to changing client priorities, schedules, and time zones.
- Take on responsibilities beyond the defined role when required, demonstrating flexibility, ownership, and a startup mindset.

Qualifications

- Strong experience with Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
- Proficiency in SQL Server, including query optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure-based data integration solutions.
- Experience with Synapse Analytics, data warehousing, dimensional modelling, and schema design.
- Understanding of dashboard design, data visualization, semantic modelling, and reporting best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident-resolution skills.
- Effective stakeholder communication and requirements-gathering capabilities.
- Exposure to integrating AI or machine-learning outputs into reporting and analytics workflows is highly desirable.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, analytics engineering, or production support.
- Strong technical foundation in Microsoft BI platforms and the Azure data ecosystem.
- Ability to work effectively in a quick-paced, collaborative, and evolving environment.
