Mainframe with DevOps

- Analyze complex mainframe applications (COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, MQ) to understand business rules, data flows, batch cycles, and system interdependencies.
- Experienced in Mainframe transformation design patterns
- AI based transformation approach will be a plus
- Experience in IDz, Z/OS connect tools
- Design and implement modernization strategies including rehost, replatform, refactor, rearchitect, replace, or retire approaches
- Pipeline Automation: Design, build, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for mainframe and distributed applications using tools like Jenkins, Git, and IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB).
- Shift-Left Testing: Establish best practices for automated testing, unit testing, and code quality checks directly within the mainframe development lifecycle.
- Scripting & Tooling: Write and optimize scripts in languages like Python, REXX, or Bash to automate routine tasks and z/OS system processes
- Mainframe Foundations: Solid understanding of z/OS environments, CICS, DB2, JCL, and traditional languages like COBOL or PL/I.
- DevOps Tooling: Proficiency in source control (Git) and CI/CD tools. Familiarity with IBM Z specific tools (IDz, DBB, and Zowe) is highly preferred.
