About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Department to oversee academic delivery, support staff and students, and ensure high-quality teaching across our vocational education and training (VET) programs. This is a face-to-face leadership role requiring strong academic expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to an outstanding student experience.

Our mission is to equip students with practical, job-ready skills through Australian recognised qualifications, experienced educators, and industry-focused learning by bringing Australian-quality vocational education and training (VET) in India.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Head of Department will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the facility while maintaining high standards of education, training, compliance, and student support in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), as well as relevant Indian regulatory authorities.

- Oversee all aspects of centre management, including admissions, staff supervision, training delivery, curriculum implementation, student and parent communication, and facility operations.
- Support student recruitment,



academic interviews, enrolment activities, and promotional initiatives.
- Lead, support, and supervise trainers and associated staff to ensure high standards of training, assessment, student engagement, and academic performance.
- Provide strong leadership and effectively manage the VET business and its academic operations.
- Oversee curriculum development, implementation, and review to ensure alignment with applicable educational standards, industry requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Manage assessment processes in accordance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements, including assessment development, moderation, verification, validation, and the provision of timely feedback.
- Contribute to quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead faculty recruitment, induction, training, performance management, and professional development to build and maintain a high-performing team.
- Foster a collaborative environment among faculty and staff to enhance training methodologies, knowledge sharing, and student engagement.
- Maintain awareness of current educational technologies, VET practices, and emerging trends, and support their appropriate implementation.
- Apply a robust understanding of curriculum development, instructional design,



and competency-based training and assessment.
- Promote a safe, supportive, inclusive, and enriching learning environment in which students can thrive and achieve their educational and career goals.

Essential Requirements:

- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- 3 to 7+ years of teaching or administrative leadership in training or skill-tech institutes.
- Strong experience in Vocational Education teaching, curriculum delivery, and quality assurance.
- Demonstrated academic leadership or coordination experience.
- Excellent communication, organisational, interpersonal and project management skills.
- Knowledge and ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of educators, with commitment to student success, professional development, and institutional values.

Desirable Skills:

- PhD (or working towards).
- Experience with research, enterprise, or external partnerships.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies.
- Experience leading quality enhancement initiatives.

Additional Information:
