2. Legal Position and Responsibilities
- The maintenance manager acts as a supervisor who promotes and enforces inspections and maintenance on behalf of the transporter.
- If daily inspections or periodic inspections are not conducted and work performance is extremely inappropriate, the maintenance manager may be subject to administrative sanctions or an order of dismissal.

- Due to an increase in large vehicle wheel separation accidents, the authority of maintenance managers has been clarified and guidance strengthened.
- Failing to make go/no-go decisions for operation based on daily inspections, or leaving periodic inspections unperformed for a long period, is regarded as a serious violation of obligations.
