Job Summary

The ER In-Charge is responsible for the overall coordination and supervision of emergency department operations, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient patient care. The role involves managing nursing and support staff, coordinating with emergency physicians and other departments, maintaining clinical standards, and ensuring smooth patient flow during emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Room.
- Coordinate and prioritize emergency patient care according to clinical urgency.
- Ensure proper triage, assessment, stabilization, treatment, and transfer of patients.
- Lead and supervise ER nurses, technicians, and support staff.
- Allocate duties and prepare staff rosters according to department requirements.
- Coordinate closely with emergency physicians, consultants, ICU, OT, radiology, laboratory, blood bank, and other departments.
- Ensure availability and readiness of emergency equipment, medications, consumables, and resuscitation facilities.
- Monitor compliance with hospital policies, emergency protocols, infection-control practices, and patient-safety standards.




- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and emergency procedures.
- Manage critical situations, code emergencies, resuscitation, and mass-casualty situations as required.
- Monitor patient waiting time, admission/transfer processes, and overall patient flow.
- Handle patient and attendant concerns professionally and escalate issues when required.
- Conduct shift handovers and ensure effective communication between teams.
- Monitor staff performance, attendance, discipline, and adherence to departmental procedures.
- Identify training needs and support orientation and competency development of ER staff.
- Participate in quality-improvement initiatives, audits, incident reporting, and accreditation-related activities.
- Ensure emergency drugs, crash carts, equipment, and supplies are checked and maintained regularly.
- Prepare and submit departmental reports as required by management.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold qualified and ethical standards.

Qualifications

Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
