As a Scan to BIM Modeler, you will be responsible for converting laser scan point clouds into accurate Autodesk Revit models following client-specific standards, Levels of Development (LOD), and Levels of Accuracy (LOA). You will collaborate with project managers and quality control teams to deliver projects on schedule while maintaining exceptional model quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Create accurate BIM models from laser scan point cloud data.
- Develop Architectural, Structural, and MEP models in Autodesk Revit.
- Interpret point cloud data captured using terrestrial laser scanners.
- Model existing conditions with high geometric accuracy.
- Maintain client-specific BIM standards and naming conventions.
- Produce Revit families when required.
- Coordinate with project managers regarding project progress.
- Review point cloud quality before modeling begins.
- Identify missing scan information and communicate project risks.
- Maintain model cleanliness and proper project organization.
- Perform self-quality checks before submitting deliverables.
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining modeling accuracy.
- Participate in continuous improvement of internal Scan to BIM standards.
Required Skills
- Solid proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
- Experience working with Autodesk ReCap.
- Experience handling large point cloud datasets.
- Excellent understanding of Scan to BIM workflows.
- Knowledge of Architectural modeling.
- Knowledge of Structural modeling.
- Basic understanding of MEP systems.
- Ability to read construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards.
- Familiarity with LOD and LOA requirements.
- Experience using worksharing and linked Revit models.
- Knowledge of Revit families and parameters.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 2–5+ years of experience in Scan to BIM.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating Scan to BIM projects.
- Experience delivering projects for US or international clients is highly preferred.
