Job Description – Project Engineer

Department: Projects / Construction
Industry: Construction / Commercial Interior Fit-Out
Reporting To: Project Manager / Project Head
Location: Project Site

Job Purpose

The Project Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day execution, supervision, coordination, quality, measurements, documentation, and timely completion of assigned construction/interior fit-out works as per approved drawings, BOQ, specifications, quality standards, and project schedule.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution

- Supervise daily site activities as per approved drawings, BOQ, specifications, and method statements.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved quality standards and project schedule.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, site supervisors, and labour teams.
- Monitor manpower, materials, tools, and equipment required for execution.
- Identify site issues and coordinate with the Project Manager for timely resolution.

2. Drawings & Technical Coordination

- Study and understand tender, GFC, shop, and construction drawings.
- Coordinate with the design team for drawing clarifications and revisions.
- Ensure execution is carried out as per the latest approved drawings.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings, BOQ, and actual site conditions and report them.

3. Measurement & Billing Support

- Maintain daily and periodic measurements of completed works.
- Prepare measurements as per BOQ and approved drawings.
- Coordinate with the client/consultant for JMR/measurement verification and signatures.
- Provide required quantities and supporting documents to the billing team for RA bills.




- Track completed quantities, pending quantities, and variation/NT items.

4. Quality & Documentation

- Ensure MIR, WIR, checklists, ITP, PQP, method statements, and other quality documents are maintained.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC team and client for inspections and approvals.
- Ensure rectification and closure of site observations and snags.
- Maintain proper records of approved materials and completed works.

5. Project Coordination

- Coordinate with the client, consultant, Project Manager, Purchase, Design, Billing, and subcontractors.
- Attend site meetings and communicate project requirements to the execution team.
- Follow up on material requirements and ensure materials are available as per the work schedule.
- Highlight delays, constraints, and critical activities to the Project Manager.

6. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

- Prepare daily progress updates/DPR as required.
- Update the project work schedule regularly.
- Monitor planned vs. actual progress.
- Report reasons for delays and prepare action plans for recovery.
- Maintain project-wise activity and quantity tracking.

7. Safety

- Ensure site activities are carried out as per company/client HSE requirements.
- Coordinate with the Safety Officer regarding PPE, work permits,



toolbox talks, and safety compliance.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses.

8. Snagging & Handover

- Prepare and maintain snag lists.
- Coordinate with subcontractors for timely snag closure.
- Verify completed works before client inspection.
- Support preparation and submission of project handover documentation.

- Project completion as per planned schedule
- Quality of execution and reduction in rework
- Accuracy and timely submission of measurements
- Timely closure of snags
- DPR and project documentation compliance
- Client/consultant inspection and approval status
- Material and manpower planning
- Timely identification of variations/NT works
- Safety compliance
- Support for timely billing and certification
- Coordination and productivity of subcontractors

Required Qualification & Experience

- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in construction, commercial interiors, fit-out, or infrastructure projects.
- Good knowledge of construction drawings, BOQ, measurements, site execution, and quality documentation.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel.
- Positive communication and coordination skills.

Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
