UDHAYAM SUPER MARKET is looking for an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to lead and manage the complete Human Resources function across the organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for HR strategy, manpower planning, recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, payroll governance, statutory compliance, employee relations, training and development, and organizational development.
The role requires a strong HR leader who can work closely with senior management and support the organization's growth through effective people management and HR systems.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead manpower planning and workforce optimization.
- Prepare and manage the HR budget.
- Advise management on HR policies, organizational structure and people-related matters.
- Drive HR transformation and change-management initiatives.
2. Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for managerial, supervisory and operational positions.
- Develop effective recruitment channels and talent pipelines.
- Plan manpower requirements based on business and store operations.
- Monitor recruitment costs, hiring timelines and recruitment KPIs.
- Ensure effective onboarding, induction and employee documentation.
3. Employee Relations & Engagement
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and workplace issues.
- Maintain positive employee relations across stores and departments.
- Develop employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Promote a positive, professional and performance-oriented work culture.
4. Performance Management
- Develop and implement KRA/KPI-based performance management systems.
- Coordinate appraisal and salary-review processes.
- Conduct talent reviews and identify high-potential employees.
- Support succession planning for critical positions.
- Drive accountability and performance improvement.
5. Payroll, Compensation & Benefits
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure accuracy.
- Manage salary structures, compensation reviews and benefits.
- Coordinate PF, ESI, gratuity and other statutory requirements.
- Develop reward and recognition programs.
- Ensure timely resolution of payroll-related employee queries.
6. HR Operations & Compliance
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle from joining to exit.
- Ensure proper maintenance of employee records and HR documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Indian labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate HR audits and compliance reporting.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and SOPs.
- Manage HRMS and HR-related MIS reports.
7. Learning & Development
- Identify training and development requirements.
- Develop training programs for employees, supervisors and managers.
- Support leadership development and career progression.
- Establish competency and development frameworks.
- Measure training effectiveness.
8. Retail HR / Store Workforce Management
- Manage HR requirements across supermarket/store operations.
- Ensure adequate staffing for different departments and shifts.
- Monitor attendance, absenteeism,
attrition and employee productivity.
- Work closely with Store Managers and department heads on HR matters.
- Develop strategies to reduce employee turnover.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of HR strategy and HR operations.
- Excellent knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Robust recruitment and talent-management experience.
- Payroll and compensation management.
- Employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Performance management and appraisal systems.
- HR analytics and MIS reporting.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work with senior management and operational teams.
Preferred Experience
Experience in retail, supermarket, hypermarket, FMCG, multi-location retail or similar high-volume workforce environments will be an advantage.
Knowledge of HRMS platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, Darwinbox or similar systems is preferred.
