Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Science Teacher who can create engaging and inquiry-based learning experiences. The ideal candidate should inspire students to understand history, geography, civics, economics, culture, and global perspectives while fostering critical thinking and responsible citizenship.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging Social Science lessons aligned with the curriculum.
- Teach History, Geography, Civics, and Economics as per grade level.
- Promote inquiry-based, experiential, and project-based learning.
- Integrate technology into classroom instruction.
- Encourage research, discussions, debates, and presentations.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Curriculum Planning
- Prepare annual, monthly, and weekly lesson plans.
- Develop worksheets, assignments, assessments, and learning resources.
- Design interdisciplinary learning experiences where appropriate.
- Maintain curriculum documentation and academic records.
Student Assessment
- Conduct formative and summative assessments.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain assessment records and progress reports.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support.
Classroom Management
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Encourage student participation and collaboration.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with school policies.
Parent Communication
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Share student progress and development with parents.
- Respond professionally to parent queries.
School Responsibilities
- Participate in school assemblies, events, celebrations, and field trips.
- Support Independence Day, Republic Day, Annual Day, exhibitions, and cultural events.
- Contribute to clubs, house activities, and co-curricular programs.
- Perform examination and invigilation duties.
QualificationsEssential
- Bachelor's Degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, or Social Science.
- B.Ed. (Mandatory)
Preferred
- Master's Degree in a relevant subject.
- CTET/TET qualification (preferred).
- IB/CBSE curriculum experience.
- IB PYP/MYP training (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in CBSE/IB schools.
- Freshers with excellent subject knowledge and teaching skills may also apply.
