We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Head to lead our mechanical maintenance and machinery operations from our Jaipur location.
Job Summary
The Mechanical Head will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, performance, availability, and reliability of crushers, heavy vehicles, construction equipment, earthmoving machinery, and other mechanical assets. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance and equipment management.
Key Responsibilities1. Maintenance & Machinery Management
- Lead and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of crushers, heavy vehicles, earthmoving machinery, and construction equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize machinery breakdowns and downtime.
- Ensure maximum availability and operational efficiency of all mechanical equipment.
- Monitor equipment condition and identify potential mechanical failures in advance.
- Ensure timely breakdown maintenance and restoration of machinery.
2. Crusher & Heavy Equipment Maintenance
- Handle maintenance of stone crushers, screening plants, conveyors, loaders, excavators, JCBs, dumpers, generators, and other heavy machinery.
- Monitor the performance and condition of critical equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related equipment issues.
- Identify recurring breakdowns and implement corrective measures to improve equipment reliability.
3. Team Management
- Lead and supervise the mechanical maintenance team, including engineers, supervisors, technicians, and mechanics.
- Allocate maintenance activities and monitor work progress.
- Train and guide the maintenance team on proper maintenance practices and safety procedures.
- Ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair activities.
4. Operational Improvement
- Analyze machinery performance and maintenance data to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement best practices to improve equipment efficiency and increase machinery life.
- Reduce unplanned downtime and optimize maintenance processes.
- Recommend replacement, repair, or upgradation of machinery wherever required.
5. Spare Parts & Inventory Management
- Maintain adequate stock of critical spare parts, tools, lubricants, consumables, and maintenance materials.
- Identify critical spares required for uninterrupted operations.
- Coordinate with the purchase team for timely procurement of spare parts.
- Monitor spare consumption and control unnecessary maintenance expenses.
6. Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Coordinate with external vendors, OEMs, service providers, and maintenance contractors.
- Manage third-party maintenance and repair activities.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure quality and timely completion of services.
- Coordinate with suppliers for technical support, machinery servicing, and spare parts.
7. Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare and monitor the mechanical maintenance budget.
- Track repair, maintenance, spare parts, and equipment-related expenses.
- Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs without compromising safety or equipment performance.
- Maintain proper records of machinery maintenance and expenses.
8. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe working practices by the mechanical team.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and identify potential safety hazards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory and industry safety requirements.
9. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain records of equipment breakdowns, preventive maintenance, repairs, spare consumption, and machinery performance.
- Prepare regular maintenance and machinery performance reports for management.
- Track equipment downtime, maintenance costs, and preventive maintenance compliance.
- Provide technical recommendations and updates to senior management.
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance.
- Strong experience in crushers, heavy vehicles, earthmoving machinery, construction equipment, or mining equipment is preferred.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in crusher plants and heavy machinery maintenance will be highly preferred.

- Experience in Mining / Construction / Crusher / Infrastructure industries will be preferred.
- Candidates who have managed mechanical maintenance teams and multiple types of heavy equipment will be given preference.
- Strong leadership, technical knowledge, and hands-on maintenance experience are essential.
