The Forklift Battery Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, charging, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial forklift batteries and charging systems to ensure maximum equipment availability and operational efficiency. The role involves preventive maintenance, safety compliance, battery performance monitoring, and proper battery handling practices within the forging plant environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesBattery Maintenance

- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance of forklift batteries.
- Check electrolyte levels, specific gravity, voltage, and battery condition.
- Top up battery cells with distilled water as per maintenance schedules.
- Clean battery terminals, connectors, cables, and battery compartments.
- Identify damaged cells, loose connections, corrosion, and leakage issues.
- Monitor battery charging cycles and charging performance.

Battery Charging Operations

- Operate and monitor battery charging equipment.
- Ensure batteries are charged according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain battery charging records and logs.
- Perform battery change-out activities using proper lifting equipment.
- Ensure batteries are cooled before returning them to service.





Troubleshooting & Repairs

- Diagnose battery performance issues and charging failures.
- Replace defective cables, connectors, and battery accessories.
- Coordinate with external service providers for major battery repairs.
- Assist in testing and commissioning new batteries and chargers.

Safety & Compliance

- Follow all electrical and battery handling safety procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE, including acid-resistant gloves, goggles, face shields, and safety shoes.
- Handle battery acid spills according to emergency response procedures.
- Ensure charging stations are clean, ventilated, and compliant with safety standards.
- Maintain compliance with company EHS policies and regulatory requirements.

Documentation

- Maintain battery maintenance records and inspection checklists.
- Track battery life, charging cycles, and replacement history.
- Report battery failures and equipment downtime to supervisors.
- Update maintenance management systems as required.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
