WHAT YOU WILL DO:
We are looking for a highly motivated, diligent,
and skilled individual to join our exciting and dynamic team, as Vice President, Corporate Counsel. The role will report to the VP, Country Head and work closely with the U.S. based Global GCC Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. There will also be additional leadership coverage of the local legal and compliance workforce.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Overall legal leadership for the GCC in India
- Develop and oversee the legal strategy for the innovation center that is aligned with the broader company strategy and local regulatory requirements
- Lead and manage the initial legal and compliance team members, ensuring effective performance and connection to U.S. based teams
- Represent the innovation center in legal activities, negotiations and discussions with external partners and vendors
- Managing, instructing and/or coordinating with external advisors and qualified service providers, including legal counsel, law firms, auditors, accountants, consultants, and other subject matter experts, to ensure timely support, alignment with business objectives, and appropriate management of legal, regulatory, and compliance matters.
- Managing internal investigations and escalation process for employee relation (ER) cases
- Representing the company in front of external authorities like - police,
legal departments
Ownership of the compliance framework
- Implement and maintain compliance frameworks and policies that connect with the company frameworks and meet all local regulatory requirements
- Regularly review and update compliance procedures to reflect and address regulatory changes or organizational needs
- Develop and help implement compliance training and awareness materials for new innovation center employees
Oversight of Compliance Matters including:
- Anti-Bribery/GCPA
- Sanctions
- Privacy
- Conflicts of Interest (Outside Business Activities)
- Ethics
- Personal Trading
- CSR Compliance
- Compliance Assessments/Testing
- Overseeing POSH compliance and complaints
- Conducting compliance training and awareness sessions for various GCC functions
- Conducting marketing reviews for compliance with advertising laws
Advisory support for HR, Finance, Procurement and Operations
- Provide legal advice and guidance for the functions with work being conducted in the new innovation center
- Collaborate with leaders from other departments to ensure legal and regulatory risks are mitigated and addressed when identified
- Advise on strategic initiatives and other business activities or contractual matters
Board and senior management reporting on compliance status
Corporate secretarial compliance, if licensed for secretarial support.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
- 15-18 years of experience
- Qualified to practice law in India
- Strong experience in corporate, regulatory, and compliance oversight
- Company Secretary license
