Key Responsibilities
Student Counselling
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students.
- Assist students in dealing with academic stress, emotional concerns, behavioural issues, peer relationships, and personal challenges.
- Identify students requiring special attention and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Maintain confidential records of counselling sessions and student progress.
Guidance & Career Counselling
- Guide students regarding subject selection, career planning, and higher education opportunities.
- Conduct aptitude, interest, and career assessment activities.
- Organize career awareness sessions, workshops, and counselling programs.
Student Well-being & Life Skills
- Conduct workshops on life skills, stress management, emotional intelligence, self-esteem, and mental wellness.
- Promote a protected, inclusive, and positive school environment.
- Support students in developing coping skills, resilience, and healthy interpersonal relationships.
Parent & Teacher Collaboration
- Work closely with teachers to identify students facing academic, behavioural, or emotional difficulties.
- Conduct counselling sessions and meetings with parents whenever required.
- Provide recommendations and strategies to teachers and parents for student development and support.
Child Protection & Safeguarding
- Support implementation of child protection and safeguarding policies.
- Address concerns related to bullying, harassment, abuse,
and student safety.
- Report serious cases to school authorities as per established protocols.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain counselling records, reports, and documentation.
- Prepare periodic reports on student counselling and welfare activities.
- Participate in school meetings, assemblies, and student welfare committees.
- Assist in organizing orientation programs, awareness campaigns, and wellness initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Psychology / Counselling Psychology / Applied Psychology from a recognized University.
- Diploma/Certification in Guidance and Counselling will be preferred.
- B.Ed. qualification is desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a School Counsellor in a reputed educational institution.
- Experience in handling adolescent counselling, career guidance, and student welfare matters.
- Experience in CBSE schools will be preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Solid counselling and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Understanding of child and adolescent psychology.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and digital counselling tools.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
