ICU Nurse – Job Description

Job Title: ICU Nurse / Critical Care Nurse

Job Summary:
Responsible for providing specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ICU Nurse monitors patients continuously, administers medications and treatments, operates critical-care equipment, and works closely with doctors and the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
- Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, cardiac rhythm, and other clinical parameters.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patients on ventilators and other life-support equipment.
- Assist doctors during procedures and emergency interventions.
- Respond quickly to changes in the patient's condition.
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, patient records, and treatment charts.
- Follow infection-control, medication-safety, and patient-safety protocols.
- Assist with emergency and resuscitation procedures, including CPR when required.
- Monitor and maintain IV lines, catheters, drains,



and other medical devices.
- Communicate patient condition and treatment updates to doctors and the healthcare team.
- Provide appropriate support and information to patients' families.
- Ensure ICU equipment and emergency supplies are available and functioning properly.
- Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.

Qualifications & Skills:

- B.Sc Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing registration/license.
- ICU or critical-care experience preferred.
- Knowledge of ventilators, cardiac monitoring, infusion pumps, and emergency procedures.
- Positive clinical observation and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in rotational shifts.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Compassionate, responsible, and patient-focused approach.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
